Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. is a family-run company based in Charleston, SC and Lexington, KY. Our goal is to take long-forgotten staples of the American bar and reinvent them, in an effort to drink like our great-grandparents might once have.
When updating the cocktail cherry we looked to our Kentucky roots for inspiration, combining Bourbon from our home state with Oregon cherries. The result is the ideal companion to any number of drinks, most notably those made with whiskey. You might find them good enough to eat straight from the jar.
Jack Rudy: Elderflower Tonic
OUR ELDERFLOWER TONIC IS AN UPDATED TONIC FORMULA WITH MORE BODY AND A BOLD FINISH THAT PAIRS WELL WITH A NUMBER OF RICHER SPIRITS: TEQUILA, BOURBON AND RUM, WHILE STILL ACTING A CLASSIC COMPANION TO THE FINER GINS OF THE WORLD.
Because elderberry grows wild throughout Kentucky, we thought it a natural compliment to our line of mixers. We add organic dried elderflowers to our original recipe, and increased the amount of quinine to bring balance to the final product.
The Elderflower Tonic has a profile that allows G&T drinking deep into the winter months, and shows versatility in a number of different applications.
Jack Rudy: Vermouth Brined Olives
16 ounce jar
When updating the cocktail olive, we celebrated our affinity for a classic Martini: a nice splash of Dry Vermouth, and the punch of juniper & coriander that we associate with a great Dry Gin. Our olives, grown in California, share that same flavor profile; they are a hearty olive, unstuffed, with a flavorful brine that you’ll no doubt find a suitable use for.
These olives are the ideal companion to that classic cocktail, as well as a Bloody Mary - or, as the Italians do it, with a nice Spritz. You might even find them good enough to eat straight from the jar.
Jack Rudy: Sweet Tea Syrup
THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY, OUR SWEET TEA SYRUP IS A GROWN-UP HOMAGE TO OUR SOUTHERN ROOTS.
Many folks in the South will mix up Sweet Tea with Vodka and Lemon to make an “Ice Pick” – it’s the perfect drink after work on a hot summer day (or during work when so inclined).
Our Sweet Tea Syrup is at home with Vodka or Bourbon, tap water or sparkling water. 3/4 ounce goes a long way in upgrading many cocktails.
Jack Rudy: Margarita Mix
Our Margarita Mix is the first cocktail-specific bottled mixer we’ve produced. It’s been a long time in the making, because we love a classic Margarita, and we worked hard to achieve a bottled mix that replicated the experience of having a fresh, made-to-order Margarita in our favorite restaurants and bars.
This version is modeled after the famed “Tommy’s Margarita” recipe, a version created in the early nineties with a straightforward blend of three ingredients: Tequila, fresh lime, and agave syrup; and as luck would have it, our mix is lower in calories and sugar than all of the major Margarita mixes on the shelf.
Our version is made with high quality lime and agave, and finished with a touch of cane sugar. The overall effect is a balanced, delicious mix that is perfect for a classic or frozen Margarita, with bright, zippy notes of lime and a sweetness that resists being cloying or overpowering. It is, in our estimation, perfect.
One request: We highly suggest that you SHAKE your Margaritas before serving them on the rocks to achieve a perfect balance of flavors. You'll thank us later.
Each bottle contains approximately 10 servings
Jack Rudy: Classic Tonic Syrup
We believe we’ve managed to create the closest possible thing to a perfect Gin & Tonic.
Our Classic Tonic Syrup (formerly known as our Small Batch Tonic) is essentially a quinine concentrate. It’s designed to pair with your favorite Gin or Vodka, and is then stretched with soda water to make a bright, light, refreshing highball.
With a backbone of quinine, culled from the Cinchona Tree, we’ve added a delicate mix of botanicals and then sweetened it with real cane sugar; the final product is a complex mixture that introduces a fine bitterness to any cocktail, and a great pairing with the botanicals of the finest Gins in the world.
Quinine was once considered a cure for malaria. We aren't doctors, so the only thing we definitively know it will cure is the happy hour conundrum.
Jack Rudy: Grenadine
Our Small Batch Grenadine was our second product after our Classic Tonic Syrup, and no less a labor of love.
We start with pomegranate juice from a small family farm in Madera, CA; they juice their fruit whole in a patented press that renders a matchless, robust pomegranate juice. To that we add cane sugar and orange flower water, and apply enough heat to dissolve the sugar while still maintaining the inherent zip of the fresh juice.
Jack Rudy Small Batch Grenadine is rich and full-flavored up front, and then gives way to a bright, almost tropical finish that lifts a drinks profile; use it to create new cocktails, or to revisit classic drinks like a Ward 8, Jack Rose, El Presidente, or Monkey Gland.
Jack Rudy: Olive Brine
The Dirty Martini has become a classic choice for cocktail lovers around the world.
We discovered that while many customers were enjoying ourVermouth Brined Olivesat home, they were looking for a higher quality Olive Brine to use in their cocktails. The widely available olive brine options were lacking the seasoning needed to properly accent the best gins and vodkas on the market.
Working with our olive farm, we developed a delicious, full-flavored Brine that elevates the Dirty Martini to new heights. Aged naturally for 10 months, this mother brine boasts an incredibly robust flavor profile. This will become a must have for any home bar (or restaurant bar!) looking for the ideal Dirty Martini.
Jack Rudy: Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This California grown Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an exciting addition to the world of Jack Rudy, the first of many products created “for the perfect pantry.” Over the last decade, the name Jack Rudy has become synonymous with products of the highest quality - products we test and use in our own homes.
While drink making has always been our focus, we are avid home cooks, and believe that drink making and home cooking go hand-in-hand. This led us to the development of a series of pantry essentials - an extension to our business that will continue to grow in the years to come.
We worked with our olive farm (see our Olive Brine or Vermouth Brined Olives) for an aromatic, versatile Olive Oil that has quickly become an essential in our home cooking. It is ideal for a number of applications - grilling, sautéing, making vinaigrettes, or finishing a dish with a hearty pour.
