Local author Donna Kay Robertson grew up on a farm in east Arkansas. Each summer she and her family enjoyed picking , caning, and making cobbler with fresh peaches from lush orchards along Crowley's Ridge. When she was inspired to write a short story bringing the Biblical character Ruth alive in modern-day setting, it seemed only natural that the field Ruth "just so happened to find would indeed be a peach orchard.
As part of this collection, Robertson's writing speaks to finding firm footing in the midst of the anguish of loss and adjusting to a culture where you are the outsider.
